2006 was a busy year for our racers and our race program.
We held three regattas: SCYA Midwinters, Hobie Wave Summer Series,
and Indian Summer Splash.
We also brought home three first place trophies
from the Newport-Ensenada yacht race.
Not bad for only having three Fairwind boats in a race with 454 boats starting.
Fairwind hosted the Hobie Wave class in the largest regatta in North America, the Southern California Yachting
Association Midwinter Regatta, February 18th & 19th.
Six Fairwind members turned out for our Hobie Wave series for the SCYA Midwinter regatta.

The Newport Ocean Sailing Association's 59th annual Newport to
Ensenada Yacht Race the last weekend in April saw 454 boats start and 340 boats finish. Among these were three
skippers from Fairwind: Michael Leneman on the F-31 Trimaran, Delta Vee; Adrian Ricks on the F-28
Trimaran, Tricia; and Fleet Captain Hartmut Eggert on our own Oxnard based Catalina 400,

Multi Marine in partnership with Fairwind Yacht Club ran the biggest offshore
multhull event in the country on Sept. 15-17, 2006
This year we had a variety of sponsors who are bring lots of goodies. We had three
days of racing, cruising, education and fun. We brought family and friends and relaxed
in the company of novices, experts and friends.
