It's a beautiful day in Southern California and a steady southwesterly breeze is blowing - the perfect day for a sail. If you yearn to be out on the water, but don't own a boat, come and join Fairwind Yacht Club where you can enjoy the fun of sailing for a minimal quarterly fee. We are now accepting a limited number of new members.

About Fairwind

Fairwind Yacht Club, an all volunteer sailing cooperative in Marina del Rey and Channel Islands Harbor, is the ideal way for boating enthusiasts to have year-round access to sailboats without the high costs of ownership. Established in 1966 as a nonprofit corporation, Fairwind Yacht Club is a family oriented association whose members enjoy training, quality sailing, cruising and fun with fellow members who share a common love of sailing and the sea.

We make sure that the volunteer work is fun and rewarding, and the quarterly dues are low and painless. Club benefits are numerous, and include year-round access to a variety of sailboats, ASA training, and private and group cruises to nearby marinas and to the Channel Islands.

Reservations for use of our twenty plus boats, which range from 14 to 40 feet, may be made online in advance, and checked out members are free to bring family and guests along. Restrooms, showers and parking facilities are all available for members and guests.

FYC is currently accepting a limited number of applicants in both of our ports. If you are interested in joining the Club, please contact the Vice Commodore for more information, of join us at one of our Open Houses. 

The Channel Islands Open House is on the third Sunday of the month, with orientation at 1pm followed by a daysail.  Join us at Peninsula Yacht Marina, 3700 Peninsula Rd., Oxnard, CA 93035.  For more info on CIH please contact Lynn at ojailee@aol.com

The next Marina del Rey Work Day and Open House is on September 6, commencing at 9.30 AM.

The monthly Work Day is a good opportunity to give back to the Club and meet your fellow members. Monthly MDR work days are the first Saturday of the month at 9:30 AM at G-basin, dock G1400 located at the end of Mindanao Way on G Basin, adjacent to Burton Chace park. The address is 13589 Mindanao Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292.  Training and Sailing in the afternoon from 1 PM to 4 PM.  Contact the MDR Fleet Captain – Shar Campbell at fleetcaptain@fairwind.org to sign up.

The American Sailing Association has named Fairwind Yacht Club an ASA Outstanding Sailing School for 2012.

The MDR slips have been relocated to G-Basin at the  end of Mindanao Way,adjacent to Burton Chace park.  The address is:

Our boats are on located on docks G1400 and G1600.

Our next Work Day and Open House will be held on Saturday, September 6.  

Workday is from 9:30AM - Noon. 

Just show up at your favorite boat to help out. 

Open House is scheduled from 1PM to 4PM. 

Guests are encouraged to arrive at 9:30AM to meet members and participate in the workday before heading out for the afternoon sail.

September Workday and Open House are scheduled for Sunday, September 21.

Workday is from 9AM - Noon. 

Just show up at your favorite boat to help out.  The Boat Chiefs will be directing the activities. 

Open House is scheduled from 1PM to 4PM.
